01The exchange
A contract is a question with a stated resolution source. Nothing else.
A question, a price, and a stated source that ends the argument.
Every contract on Qismet DCM is written so that two people who disagree can both read the terms and know, in advance, exactly what will decide it. The price in between is whatever the resting orders say it is.
New York high above 75°F before 30 April
Global semiconductor revenue above $700B in 2027
Brent settles above $80 in any week of Q4
02Categories
One queue, one rule set, whatever the subject.
Different questions. Same machinery.
A weather contract and a rates contract are the same object to the exchange: a claim, a resolution source, and a queue of orders. The subject changes. The mechanics do not.

Climate
Temperature, rainfall, storm and season thresholds.
Commodities

03Order to outcome
Three steps. The order of them is the whole design.
From an order to an outcome.
Order
A participant names a side and a price in cents. The order rests in the queue until another order meets it.
Resting orders · spread open
Match
Best price first, then earliest order. Two participants take opposite sides of the same claim.
The cross · spread closed
Settle
The stated source resolves the question. One side is worth a hundred cents, the other nothing, and the record stays available.
Resolved · 100¢ or 0
04Non negotiable
Three commitments the design is built around.
Three things that will not change.
One queue
Everyone meets the same queue.
No participant sees a different price, and the exchange never takes the other side of a trade.
- Single central order queue
- Same rules for every account
- No proprietary trading
One price
Formed by orders, nothing else.
The visible price is the state of the queue. It is not set, guided or adjusted by us.
- Price–time priority
- Visible depth
- 1¢ to 99¢ band
One outcome
Stated before the first trade.
Each contract names its resolution source when it lists, and the record of how it resolved outlives the market.
- Source named at listing
- Binary settlement
- Resolution record retained
